NEW Experimental FM MIDI Synth Module

 July 6, 2024

Axetronic.com has released a new experimental MIDI Synth Module for use with standard MIDI software, controllers or keyboards.

Use with Ableton or Pure Data and any MIDI hardware with MIDI output.

It has a very unique user interface, using 2 photo-sensors for optional photo-Theremin control of sounds.

The new Deco pickup I've designed is made of perloid vinyl bobbin flanges that are inlayed in different colors, such as pearl red, white, blue, (other colors available).

ALNICO V magnetic pole pieces and finished in a vintage style using cloth covered hook-up wires and wrapped with vintage style vinyl.

Custom windings, colors and specs are available at LunaKraft.com, or just e-mail me at AxeTronic@gmail.com

Instruments From The Past: The Guitaron

 Some creations of the past...

The Guitaron- A synthesizer in the form of a guitar. You could change to any musical key, play arpeggios and change octaves. It had great sounding bass notes. The metal tabs on the neck are touch sensors. This was sold to a guy in Japan.

Black Fuzz Box Guitar Distortion

By combining woodworking, metal craft and microprocessor programming I create machines that allow the user to control, modify and produce new sounds.

Some ideas in the works currently are: guitar style synthesizers, modular synthesizers, simple synth boxes, guitar & bass effects. All of which I'd like to present here as they are created.

Here is an interesting guitar & bass effects stomp box. Its enclosure is hand crafted from a single piece of maple wood which was painted with textured enamel. Aluminum trim on the top and sides help to provide electrical shielding as well as add to its cool look. (The interior of the box is also shielded).

I have designed this box so that "cartridges" can be plugged into the back of the unit and allow the user to instantly change the type of fuzz/overdrive that is produced. We are offering this new effects box with two cartridges; one cartridge produces a hard fuzz (hard clipping), creating a sharper fuzz sound and the second cartridge creates a softer, tube like fuzz.

The standard controls include volume, overdrive level, a true bypass footswitch and standard power adapter (size M) jack. You can use a standard 9V power adapter or 9V battery.

What makes this box interesting are the interchangeable cartridges which virtually transform the sound of the effects. Currently there are two cartridges available for this unit (as described above), with more being developed.
